CURRENT ACCOUNT TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. The Account Holder has read & understood the Terms and Conditions governing the opening of an account with the Bank and those relating to various services including but not limited to a) ATMs b) Debit Cards c) PhoneBanking d) NetBanking e) MobileBanking f) BillPay facility g) InstaAlert facility h) Email Statement. The Account Holder accepts and agrees to be bound by the said Terms and Conditions including those excluding/limiting the Bank’s liability. The Account Holder understands that the Bank may at its sole discretion, amend any of the services completely or partially with at least 30 days notice and /or provide an option to switch to other services to the Account Holder. The Account Holder agrees that the Bank can debit the Account Holder’s account for service charges applicable from time to time. A copy of the Terms and Conditions, Service Charges & Fees Brochure and the Code of Commitment for Individual Customers can be obtained from the branch/website.
  2. The Account Holder confirms that the Account holder is a resident of India.
  3. The Account Holder confirms to have read & understood that as per RBI guidelines, banks are advised to exercise due diligence by closely examining the transactions carried out in the account on an ongoing basis. This is done in order to ensure that the transactions are in sync with the customer profile as provided while opening the account. Hence it is imperative that the Profile details provided by the Account Holder is correct and accurate. It is important that the Account Holder’s profile details correspond /match with the transaction pattern in the Account Holder’s account. Basis the information provided, the Bank shall review the transaction pattern in the Account Holder’s account which would be used to report transactions of suspicious nature if any. Should there be any change in the Account Holder’s Profile details, the Account Holder agrees to visit the nearest HDFC Bank Branch and update the details.
  4. The Account Holder confirms that all joint Account Holders are the Account Holder’s blood relatives. The Account Holder understands that the Blood Relatives would include parents, brother, sister, children, and spouse.
  5. The Account Holder understands that as per extant Reserve Bank of India guidelines, opening of any current account requires declaration of existing credit facilities with any of the Bank's branches or any other bank. The Account Holder shall declare details of any such credit facilities enjoyed with any Bank in the account opening form, as per the required format therein. The Account Holder undertakes to obtain the requisite No Objection Certificate/s (NOC), if applicable, from such Bank/s and hand it/them over to the Bank before the account gets opened.
  6. The Account Holder agrees to repay to the Bank on demand, unconditionally, the amounts of overdrafts that the Bank may grant to the Account Holder from time to time, together with interest accrued thereon. The Account Holder agrees that this does not imply that the Bank is bound to grant the Account Holder any credit facility whatsoever.
  7. The Account Holder authorizes the Bank to disclose, from time to time, any information relating to the Account Holder’s savings/current account to any parent/subsidiary/affiliate and associate of the Bank and to third parties engaged by the Bank, for purposes as detailed in the Terms & Conditions. The Account Holder confirms that Account Holder is in possession of and has read the Terms and Conditions which details the rules governing account operations, the Service charges and Fees Brochure which specifies the charges applicable from time to time for various services. NetBanking and SMS Banking services will be available to the Account Holder upon opening of account with the Bank without requiring completion of any formalities for activation of such services.In case of change of address, email, phone/mobile number etc due to relocation or any other reason, the Account Holder would intimate the new address to the Bank within two weeks of such a change with a valid address proof.
  8. The Account Holder understands and accepts that the welcome kit would be delivered to the addressee only on the mailing address provided. In case of non-receipt of the welcome kit within 2 weeks of the date of account opening, the Account Holder shall contact the nearest branch. The Account Holder understands and accepts that the PIN number for the ATM/Debit Card for carrying out the transactions on the ATM will be dispatched to the Account Holder’s mailing address by post and that the Account Holder shall maintain confidentiality of the PIN number and the Bank would not be held liable for misuse of PIN number.
  9. The Account Holder agrees and understands that cheque book of 50 leaves will be issued by default. For any additional cheque book, the Account Holder shall contact the nearest branch of the Bank.
  10. The Account Holder hereby authorises the Bank to send all correspondence (including Sanctioned Credit Limit and Account Balance) on the Email ID as provided under the Account Holder’s Customer ID as per records held with the Bank.
  11. The Account Holder shall also abide by the Current Account Terms and Conditions of the Bank, and the General Terms and Conditions as may be placed by the Bank on the Bank’s website from time to time, or as may be communicated or displayed by the Bank in any other manner. Save and except to the extent modified by the Terms and Conditions herein, the Account Holder shall be responsible to check the said Terms and Conditions from time to time on the Bank’s website and shall be bound by the same, as also the general Terms and Conditions available on the Bank’s website.
  12. The Account Holder shall be liable to pay to the Bank, the costs, expenses, fees, etc., as applicable, from time to time including in relation to current account, as appearing in the Schedule of Charges, displayed on the Bank’s website from time to time, or as may be communicated or displayed by the Bank in any other manner. The Account Holder shall be responsible to check the Schedule of Charges from time to time on the Bank’s website, and shall be bound by the same. The Account Holder authorizes the Bank to recover all such costs, expenses, fees, stamp duty, commission, interest, and other charges applicable, when due/incurred, from any current account/savings account maintained by the Account Holder with the Bank and irrevocably authorises the Bank to debit any such account for this purpose without any requirement of consent from or communication to the current Account Holders. The Account Holder agrees to pay, if required by the Bank, such additional out of pocket expenses, as may be specified by the Bank from time to time.
