What is FASTag?
NETC FASTag is a device that employs Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology for making toll payments directly from the prepaid account linked to it. It is affixed on the windscreen of your vehicle and enables you to drive through toll plazas, without stopping for cash transactions. The tag has a validity of 5 years and after purchasing, you only need to recharge/ top up the tag as per your requirement.

Which are the roads where the tag can be used?
FASTag is presently operational at 420+ toll plazas across national highways. More toll plazas will be brought under the NETC FASTag program in the future. You may see the list of plazas in the 'Toll Plazas' section.

How can I buy FASTag?

You may visit any of the Point of Sale (POS) locations / HDFC Bank authorised Agent Sales offices to get your tag account created. or "click here"

You will need to carry original as well as copy of your KYC document along with your vehicle at the POS / Sales office location.

What are the documents needed to apply for FASTag?
You will need to carry original as well as copy of your KYC document

You need to submit the following documents along with the application for FASTag:

  1. Registration Certificate (RC) of the vehicle.
  2. Passport size photograph of the vehicle owner
  3. KYC documents as per the category of the vehicle owner:

Individual

  • ID proof and Address proof from the list mentioned, and 1 passport size photograph
  • Driving License PAN Card Passport Voter ID Card Aadhar Card (with address)
  • A valid driving license would be sufficient for Address & ID proof.

Corporate

  • Public Ltd./ Private Ltd./ Partnership Proprietorship
  • Certificate of Incorporation/ Partnership Deed/Registration certificate of the firm PAN Card of Proprietor
  • PAN Card of the corporate Address Proof of the Proprietor
  • Photo ID of signing authority Shop Act or other Firm Proof
  • List of Directors with addresses/Name and addresses of Partners

Our representative will provide you an application form, which you need fill and submit.

All required documents for NETC FASTag should be in the name of the owner of the vehicle. If car owner is not present at the time of application, driver will need to submit his photo ID proof.

How to reload/recharge your HDFC Bank NETC FASTag wallet?

HDFC Bank NETC FASTag brings you greater ease when it comes to reloading or recharging your card.

You can now reload/recharge using one of the below convenient methods:

Via PayZapp:

STEP 1 : Login to your PayZapp application. Click on “Recharge/Bill Pay” tab

STEP 2 : Under “Utility/Bill Pay” module click on “FASTag” icon

STEP 3 : Select “HDFC Bank FASTag” option, then enter your Vehicle Registration No. (or) Wallet ID and click on “CONFIRM” tab

STEP 4 : The screen will update you with your current wallet balance, maximum recharge amount with customer details like name and vehicle registration no.

Input the recharge amount (within the limit of “Maximum recharge amount”). Select payment option and complete the transaction

Via UPI Application:

Via PayZapp, Google Pay, Amazon Pay, Phone Pe or any ‘UPI’ Applications

STEP 1 : Open any UPI application

STEP 2 : Click on Pay by UPI ID and enter the VPA

STEP 3 : Enter the pre-defined VPA for HDFC Bank NETC FASTag Recharge (eg: netc.MH12AB1234@hdfcbank)

STEP 2 : Click on recharge Icon

STEP 3 : Please select the record (i.e. the desired row) by clicking on the wallet ID number.

STEP 4 : Please ENTER the recharge or reload amount

STEP 5 : Click on YES to proceed with the recharge

Via HDFC Bank MobileBanking:

STEP 1 : Login to your HDFC Bank MobileBanking. Click on “Pay” module

STEP 2 : First you need to add your vehicle details in the BILLER. Hence click on “ADD BILLER” tab

STEP 3 : Click on “FASTag” icon

STEP 4 : Select “HDFC Bank FASTag” from the drop down list, input your Vehicle Registration Number, your Wallet ID No. and update the Biller Name (for your future reference) and click on “CONTINUE” tab

STEP 5 : Cross check the details provided by you, add a tick mark on T&C box and click on the “CONFIRM” tab. On your confirmation, the Biller will get added in to your biller list. Here, your one time updation of vehicle activity will be completed

STEP 6 : To recharge/reload your wallet, please click on the added biller name

STEP 7 : Check the pre-populated vehicle no. and wallet details and enter the recharge amount. Select the payment option from the dropdown list at “Pay From” field and click on “PAY” to complete the payment journey

Via HDFC Bank NetBanking:

STEP 1 : Login to HDFC Bank NetBanking. Under “BillPay & Recharge” module click on the “Continue” tab

STEP 2 : Under “Pay” module click on the “FASTag” icon

STEP 3 : Select “HDFC Bank FASTag” option, then enter your Vehicle Registration No. (or) Wallet ID and click on “Pay” tab

STEP 4 : The screen will update you with your current wallet balance, maximum recharge amount along with customer details like Name and Vehicle Registration No.

STEP 5 : Under “Payment Amount” field input the recharge amount (within the limit of “Maximum recharge amount”) then, select the payment option and complete the transaction

Do I need to use any specific lane at the toll plaza for FASTag?
Yes, you will have to use the lanes demarcated for FASTag.
Can I avail a monthly pass?
The monthly pass facility is specific to each toll plaza. You may call our customer care @ 1800 120 1243 to check the details.
How can I recharge my tag account?
You may recharge your TAG account by making payment through Credit Card/ Debit Card/ NEFT/ RTGS or through Net Banking. The TAG account can be recharged upto Rs. 1,00,000.00 (Rupees One Lac only)

Log in to FasTag Portal(www.hdfcbank.com/fastag) with User ID / Wallet ID and Password

  1. Select the option of payment and click on Top-Up tab
  2. Select the respective Wallet ID and fill the recharge amount
  3. Select the Peyment Mode and complete the payment process

OR

Recharge using Payzapp,GPay etc. or any UPI Application

  1. Open any UPI ID application
  2. Click on pay by UPI ID and enter the VPA
  3. Enter the pre-defined VPA for HDFC Bank FasTag Recharge(eg.netc.MH12AB1234@hdfcbank)

Note:

  1. Convenience fee will be applicable for online recharge.
  2. Rs. 1,00,000 can be recharged by KYC customers
  3. Do not refresh the browser or press the 'Back' button in the middle of the transaction.
How do I generate/ reset my username and password?
Once your NETC FASTag account is created, Please log in to the customer portal and register yourself to generate your user id and password.

Is there any convenience fees?
Convenience fee will be levied to all the HDFC Bank NETC FASTag Customers for executing "Online TAG Recharge" transactions. The rate of convenience fee will be levied based on the type of transactions.

Please find below the details of convenience fee rates for your reference.

  • Credit Card 1.10% of the transaction value
  • Debit Card 1% of the transaction value
  • Net Banking Rs. 8

Plus taxes as per the prevailing applicable rates.

Note: Convenience fee is levied against transaction processing fees

How would I cross toll plaza, if ETC equipment are not working?
In case ETC equipment are not working and your NETC FASTag account is having sufficient balance, please pay the toll fee in cash at the plaza. Additionally, please call our customer care or 1033 helpline to report the issue with the concessionaire.
Is there any minimum value for such recharge / top up?
No, there is no minimum recharge amount for recharge
I have two vehicles, can I use one NETC FASTag for two vehicles?
You will need to take two separate FASTags for the two vehicles
What do I have to do if I lost my RFID Tag? What will happen to the account balance?
You will need to call our customer care number to block your NETC FASTag and have your NETC FASTag re-issued by paying Rs. 200 as re-issuance charge. Your wallet balance will remain the same.
How would I know that the correct user fee has been deducted from my NETC FASTag account?
You will receive an SMS & Email alert in your registered phone number and email address each time a balance is deducted from your NETC FASTag account.
How would I report an incorrect deduction and how will I get back the same?
You can report an incorrect deduction by calling us at our call center. We will review your request and if found correct, we will refund the incorrect deduction.

i. TAT for chargeback

ii. Once the chargeback TAT is over, the dispute will be raised in good faith basis. Acquiring bank can accept or decline such cases without providing any documents & there are no further rights on it.
How do I block my NETC FASTag account, in case my vehicle is lost?
You can call up our customer care or use portal (Login Help) to block your NETC FASTag account.
I have new vehicle fitted with RFID Tag. How to get it activated?
We are exploring ways to use these tags for ETC , however it will require some new technical development. It will also be subject to tag being in proper condition without any damage or tampering.
Can NETC FASTag be used for passage through toll plazas on the state highways
FASTag can be used on all toll plazas where it has been implemented. You can check the list of Plazas click here
I reside within 10 Km of a particular Toll plaza. Do I need to take NETC FASTag to get the concessions available for local vehicles?
You will need to submit your documents to the concessionaire validating your residence within 10km of a particular plaza. Once it is verified, you may avail the concession on the NETC FASTag assigned to your vehicle
Why are the rates different for different vehicle categories?
Vehicles are categorized for the welfare of road users. This categorization is primarily based on the size and load they carry and damage done to the road and type of use (commercial/personnel) of a vehicle.
Why concessions to local/ frequent users are different?
Concession to local/frequent users are extended as welfare measures. There may be variation in the concessions available as these have been provided at different times under different fee rules and provisions of concession agreement.
Why full user fee (toll) is to be paid although we travel a small length on the project road?
In India, the tolling is generally under the open system, whereby fee payable is a fixed amount based on the length of stretch under one project which is normally 60 kilometers. If a stretch is of lesser length, user fee of actual length only is collected.
What is normal minimum distance between two adjacent Toll Plazas?
As per the fee rules 2008, the spacing between two adjacent toll plazas should be 60 km.
In case of Harassment/ misconduct/ discourteous/ rude behaviour of toll collection staff, what should we do?
In case of such a scenario, a complaint is to be lodged with respective Project Directors at the toll plaza.
Why the user fee (toll) rate is different at 2 Toll Plazas?
User fee on a particular fee plaza is based on stretch length under that plaza, structures (bridge, tunnel, bypass) and width of the highways, applicable fee rules and provisions of the concessions agreement.
If I am an existing current account holder and have a requirement for few tags for my commercial vehicles, do I need to submit the KYC documents ?
In all probability you may not have to submit the KYC documents, however it is best to check with your Relationship Manager for more information
Do I need to individually recharge all my vehicles as I am into fleet business and have many vehicles
One wallet can have multiple vehicles hence corporate needs to load only one wallet through online and all vehicles under one wallet can use the balance

How to get residual balance from the card to account?
There is no provision to get the card balance transferred to any linked Bank account however if you choose the close the NETC FASTag account then a DD / Cheque will be issued to the customer within 7 business days
Can I transfer balance from one NETC FASTag wallet to another?
Wallet to wallet transfer is not allowed.
Can I get another NETC FASTag reissued?
Yes, please contact toll free number.
Do I need to pay charges for NETC FASTag getting reissued?

How I can Hotlist the card ?

What is the meaning of Blacklisted FASTag?
Tag can be blacklisted for various reasons such any government authority can send us the request or wallet has gone in to negative balance. Once the account is recharged with sufficient balance tag will move in to active list however the tags which has been blacklisted due to govt authority request will become active only if we get a request from them
Post I reload the card, will it become active automatically or I need to call somebody?
Yes, if the tag was blacklisted due to low balance then after reload tag will become active automatically
Do I get any interest on Security deposit?
No, there is no interest given on any balance customer keeps in Wallet ( Balance or Security deposit)
Security deposit in at wallet level or tag level? The security deposit will reside on tag or it will remain in wallet?
Security deposit is for each tag and it is not the part of your wallet balance
Can I get refund of my balance if I close my account
Refund is given to only KYC customers, so if you have not submitted all your KYC documents then please do so to enjoy all the benefits
In case , I have not received cash back or I have queries on cash back - whom should I can call / write?
You can either call the toll free number or raise it through portal
For a corporates - how many staff can get access of corporate portal
Each corporate will have one login credentials
In corporate service portal - As a admin , I will have what options?
Recharge, statement of account, raise service request, edit profile, change password and many more
Can I generate bulk statements for all RFID purchased by me.
Statement is generated for a wallet regardless of count of tags under a wallet
Will RFID purchased by me , will automatically get reflected under my login ID or do I need to register each RFID?
Any Tag issued and activated to wallet will become a part of your login ID, no need to manually add it or register it
What will be the turn around time to get the emergency service?

Will balance be available in Wallet or individual tag?
Balance will always be available in wallet
Can I transfer security deposit electronically ?
Customer can only do recharge to increase the wallet balance, other than that there is no wallet to wallet transfer or surrender / cash out option.
